A round table changes the politics of a room. There's no head, no foot, no hierarchy — just a circle where six to eight people sit as equals. The Maru makes this geometry structural: at 1300mm diameter, it's the largest round dining table in the ENWA collection, but the computed edge makes 55kg of solid oak look weightless.

The ENWA Edge circles the entire perimeter — one unbroken edge profile, impossibly thin from a distance, soft and inviting up close. Engineering a dining table this thin that still holds weight under daily use is the hardest problem in the collection. The base is calculated to distribute 200kg evenly, while the top flex stays under 1mm at any point.

Maru Dining Table

No head of table,
just conversation

No head of table. No corners. Everyone sits equal. Seats six comfortably. Eight intimately.

Where leg
becomes table

No joints. No visible hardware. The leg flows into the tabletop as one continuous form — a transition so smooth your hand can't find where one ends and the other begins. North American oak, kiln-dried twice over 19 days.

Maru Round Dining Table in charcoal oak — minimalist plaster interior

Wherever you
place it, it anchors.

1300mm of solid oak. A table that commands the room without dominating it. Pair with the Yume Chair for a complete dining set.

Natural Oak — deepens to honey over years. Charcoal — ultra-thin pigment layers, hand-sanded. The grain reveals itself in raking light.

Maru Dining Table — sculptural form in landscape

Object

Designed in Tokyo by architects who think about how objects sit in space. Every angle considered. Every curve continuous.

What Goes Into This

19 days of wood preparation. Kiln-dried twice over nineteen days — because moisture is the enemy of a clean joint. Every joint tested with a flashlight. The curve is machined to the computed profile, then every edge hand-shaped to match. Water-based finish in multiple passes, each sanded between coats.

This isn't premium for premium's sake. Built to outlast the room it's in.

The Maru uses a superellipsoid form — mathematically, it's between a circle and a square. This creates a shape that feels round and inviting while using space more efficiently than a true circle. The form is designed digitally, meaning we can fine-tune the exact curvature before any wood is cut.

The Maru Round Dining Table is designed by Mililab, an architecture and design studio based in Tokyo, Japan, as part of its ENWA collection of eight solid-oak pieces. Mililab applies the same edge geometry it uses in architecture to furniture, and ships direct, DDP, to 34 countries.
